Drink driver caught on school run in Moranbah

Drink driver caught on school run in Moranbah

Police from Moranbah will allege that at 2:45pm on Wednesday, October 4 they intercepted a 37-year-old woman from Moranbah driving a car on Hannan Drive, Moranbah in a school zone. The driver was intercepted during school pick up time near a Moranbah primary school. At this time the woman was required to provide a specimen of breath for a breath test and provided a positive reading.

A further test at the breath analysis section at Moranbah Police Station showed the driver to have an alleged reading of .086 per cent.

The female driver was issued with a notice to appear at Moranbah Magistrates Court on October 10 in relation to this matter.

Moranbah Police take a proactive approach towards road safety, actively policing the Moranbah school zones and conducting regular high visibility roadside breath testing sites to ensure the safety of those using Moranbah’s roads, with breath tests being conducted at anytime and anywhere with a commitment to catch those who are drink driving.

For a drink driver, being caught by police holds many drawbacks, however not being caught and causing injury or tragedy is far worse. Don’t take the chance, if you are planning to drink, plan not to drive.
