Driving incident, Mount Tamborine

Police have a man in custody after a driving incident on the Northern Gold Coast this afternoon.

Around 1.30pm, police became aware of a utility due to the manner of driving on Santa Barbara Boulevard in Hope Island.

Pol Air 1 was deployed and was able to track the vehicle to Oxenford, where the driver and an occupant left the vehicle and attempted to steal another at a theme park.

They were unsuccessful and got back into their original vehicle and were tracked to the Mount Tamborine area, near Thunderbird Park.

The vehicle went into bushland and it is believed three occupants got out.

A man was taken into custody while police continue to search for another man and a woman.

Investigations are continuing.
