Drug charges, Hyde Park

On Sunday October 15, officers from the Townsville Tactical Crime Squad (TTCS) executed a search warrant at an address in Hyde Park.

During the search, police will allege they located hydroponic equipment, cannabis plants (up to a meter in height) and a quantity of cannabis.

A 44-year-old man was charged with five drug related offences including producing and possessing dangerous drugs exceeding the Schedule 3 quantity.

He is scheduled to appear in Townsville Magistrates Court on November 8.

Officer in Charge of the Townsville Tactical Crime Squad, Acting Senior Sergeant Troy Lone said officers from the Squad were regularly executing search warrants within the Townsville area aimed at disrupting the activities of mid-level drug producers.

The Tactical Crime Squad received large numbers of drug-related Crime Stoppers and other intelligence files based on information from members of the public. The public should feel confident that local police are constantly acting on that information and achieving good results.
