Fatal traffic crash, Proserpine
Police are appealing for public assistance in relation to a fatal traffic crash south of Proserpine this morning.
Initial inquiries indicate around 7.30am, officers received information that a Nissan X Trail was submerged in Lethebrook Creek on the Bruce Highway.
When the vehicle was winched out police located the body of a man inside.
The 44-year-old man, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
It appears the vehicle had veered off the Bruce Highway into the creek below.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
