Fire lit during attempted burglary in Proserpine
Between 7.15am and 3.30pm on August 28 a burglar has attempted to gain entry into a home on Spalla Drive in Proserpine while the resident was not home.
An attempt was made to force entry with an implement through the front security screen door. A second attempt was also made to gain entry through the rear locked security screen door. No entry was able to be gained and nothing has been stolen.
The crook did not leave it at that however. A doona has been removed from the nearby clothes line and has been set alight next to the hot water system and an external wall causing fire damage to both.
