Footpath sign used to assault victim, Mackay city
A sushi bar sign has been picked up by an unknown male and thrown at a pedestrian in an unprovoked attack at 8:45 pm on October 12.
It’s alleged that a male, indigenous in appearance, approximately 20-years-old and wearing a red t-shirt with unknown writing on the front has thrown the sign at the victim after shouting “What are you looking at?” It’s further alleged that this person was heavily affected by liquor.
The suspect has left the area on foot after the incident. The victim received treatment from the Queensland Ambulance Service and was transported to the Mackay Base Hospital after the sign struck him in the torso.
