Smithfield detectives are investigating the theft of a Yamaha 100km/h four stroke outboard motor from a property in Mount Milman Drive, Smithfield sometime between 5pm on Friday, September 29 and 1:30pm on Saturday September 30.

Offender/s have entered the address via a locked gate and removed the outboard motor from the vessel.

After removing the outboard, the offender/s have closed and re-locked the gate before leaving the location.

The outboard motor is described as being a new model, grey in colour and slightly faded by the sun.

It is possible that there may have been more than one offender involved, with the outboard weighing approximately 170 kilograms.

Police are appealing to members of the public for information that may assist in the identity of the offender/s or any vehicles that may have been sighted in or around the offence location during the stated times.
