Linked burglary offences, Gold Coast
Gold Coast police are investigating a series of burglaries targeting local businesses between Sunday September 3 and Thursday September 7.
It is believed thieves broke into up to ten premises including takeaway food outlets, cafes, a hardware store and a medical centre.
Just before 1am on September 7 two men entered a takeaway food store on Broadwater Avenue at Hope Island by smashing a glass door with a rock.
The men conducted a search of the property however left empty-handed.
Around 6am that morning the same men broke into another takeaway business located on Bermuda Street at Varsity Lakes, using a brick to smash their way through the door.
The men removed the store till containing a sum of cash and fled the scene in a grey SUV.
Similar burglaries were reported overnight on September 7 from businesses in Burleigh Waters, Broadbeach, Miami, Mudgereeba and Southport.
Police have release CCTV images of two men who may be able to assist with inquiries.
The first man (pictured) is described as Caucasian in appearance with dark hair, a short rat’s tail with a tattoo above his left eyebrow and tattoos down both lower legs.
The second man (pictured) is also described as Caucasian.
The men may be travelling in a 2014 grey Range Rover with QLD registration 974 WNH (pictured) which was stolen from a residence at Carrara on September 4.
