LOCATED Missing boy, Townsville

Update August 27: The 12-year-old boy reported missing from Townsville has been located safe and well.

The original media release (below) has been edited to remove identifying features.

Police are seeking public assistance to locate a boy missing from Townsville since last night (August 26).

The 12-year-old boy  was last seen leaving an address in Rasmussen around 7.30pm and has not been heard from since.

Police and family hold concerns for his welfare as his disappearance is out of character.

He is described as Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander in appearance, around 150cm tall with a solid build, dark complexion, dark brown hair and brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing blue knee-length shorts.

Anyone who may have seen the boy or know his whereabouts is urged to contact Policelink or Crime Stoppers.
