Mareeba PCYC hosts successful NAIDOC Event

With Monday being the start of the September school holiday the NAIDOC Family Fun Day which was held in Arnold Park Mareeba on Tuesday was a great success.

Mareeba PCYC was the driving force behind  the event and over 400 locals come out and enjoyed the day despite the rainy and overcast weather.

There were a number of Indigenous Dancers performing native dances as well as a jumping castle and face painting for the kids.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services came along and handed out fire prevention material but their tent was nearly deserted compared to the line up for a ride in Little Squirt.

The Queensland Police Service couldn’t be outdone by Queensland Fire and Emergency Services so we brought along a Police bike that was a great hit, not only with the kids but adults as well.
