Multiple drug charges, Logan District
Police have arrested 27 people on 79 charges following the closure of a drug investigation in the Logan District.
Detectives from the Logan Criminal Investigation Branch, aided by members of the State Crime Command Organised Crime Gangs Group and other Logan District officers executed 14 search warrants during the two-day operation on October 24 and 25.
The majority of the addresses targeted by police were in Eagleby and Beenleigh with charges relating to the possession of dangerous drugs including Methylamphetamine, Cannabis and Ecstasy.
It will also be alleged officers recovered other illegal items including a Taser and several sets of knuckledusters.
Two stolen vehicles were also recovered, with three people charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
The majority of those accused persons will be appearing in the Beenleigh Magistrates Courts over the coming weeks.
Detective Inspector Tod Reid from the Logan District said the raids were to prevent drugs spreading into the community.
“Illegal drugs like Methylamphetamine are a scourge on our society,” Detective Inspector Reid said.
“This operation resulted in the removal of dangerous drugs and weapons from our community, making it a safer place and we will continue to use calculated and targeted methods to disrupt and dismantle these networks.”
