Operation Daughtery, Charters Towers and Hughenden
Seven people have been charged with multiple offences as part of Operation Daughtery which has been targeting a drug supply network identified in Hughenden.
On September 28, police attempted to intercepted a 1994 Holden Commodore on Sadds Lane, Charters Towers however the vehicle failed to stop and was later found abandoned on Cadden Street.
The driver later attempted to report his vehicle stolen, but following police inquiries, a search warrant was executed at the man’s address.
The 41-year-old Charters Towers City man is scheduled to appear in Charters Towers Magistrates Court on October 16 charged with an array of driving and drug offences including failing to stop a motor vehicle, possessing dangerous drugs, possessing anything used in the commission of a crime, possessing utensils or pipes, and authority required to possess explosives.
Following further investigations, six warrants were executed in Hughenden on September 29, which saw police charge six people.
A 59-year-old Hughenden man is scheduled to appear in Hughenden Magistrates Court on November 28 charged with possessing dangerous drugs, possessing anything used in the commission of a crime and failing to properly dispose of a needle and syringe.
A 41-year-old Hughenden man is expected to appear in Hughenden Magistrates Court on November 28 charged with possessing utensils or pipes.
A 38-year-old Hughenden man is expected to appear in Hughenden Magistrates Court on November 28 charged with possessing utensils or pipes.
A 43-year-old Hughenden man was charged with possessing dangerous drugs and possessing utensils and will go through a drug diversion program.
A 28-year-old Hughenden woman is expected to appear in Hughenden Magistrates Court on November 28 charged with possessing dangerous drugs and failing to properly dispose of a needle and syringe.
A 57-year-old Hughenden woman is expected to appear in Hughenden Magistrates Court on November 28 charged with possessing dangerous drugs.
