PSPA declaration – Aura bushfire
Police have declared an emergency situation under the Public Safety Preservation Act as authorities continue to fight several bushfires in the vicinity of Aura Estate (Bells Creek, near Caloundra).
The boundaries of the emergency declaration for Aura Estate, which was declared at 5pm, encompass:
• Caloundra Road to the North
• Lamera Creek Road to the South
• Bellvista Blvd to the East
• Racecourse Road to the West
A Watch and Act message was issued by the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service at 3.10pm today. It can be viewed at:

Many residents and businesses in Aura Estate have self-evacuated to family or friends, with police also contacting locals.
An evacuation centre has also been established at the Lake Kawana Community Centre, 114 Sportsman Parade, Bokarina.
Members of the public are advised to avoid the Aura area due to fire and smoke hazards / dangers.
