Putting the screws on crime in Runaway Bay
Volunteers in Policing, Runaway Bay Rotary Club and Runaway Bay Neighbourhood Watch combined yesterday to complete a One Way Screw Day at Harbour Town Shopping Centre. More than 50 vehicles had the screws attaching their number plates to the car replaced by one way screws which provide a high level of security.
The theft of number plates is an ongoing concern within the Runaway Bay police division and this initiative continues to help reduce this type of crime, along with building partnerships between the Queensland Police Service, community groups and members of the local community.
Further One Way Screw days are scheduled for the remainder of the year. Please contact your local police station VIP’s for details.
