Road Safety Week ‘Women on Wheel’s event

Road Safety Week ‘Women on Wheel’s event

Police from the Townsville Crime Prevention Unit, Townsville Road Policing Unit, Townsville Station and Townsville School Based Policing partnered with Key Motors to present a police information session on Wednesday, August 23 for Road Safety week.

The guests rotated through several information sessions and demonstrations before finalising the night with the police presentation.

Police provided information about when to report traffic crashes, child restraint rules, what constitutes use of a mobile phone, roadside drug tests, e-ticketing, and car and house security.

Guests were able to engage with police during the night and talk to the road policing officer about the Automated Number Plate Recognition system in the highway patrol car on display.

The feedback from the guests was positive particularly in relation to clarification of traffic rules.

Townsville Police will continue to partner with Key Motors at future events to spread the Road Safety message.
