Robbery charges, Cairns
Police have charged a 15-year-old girl after an alleged robbery in Cairns overnight.
It will be alleged at 8.45pm a 24-year-old woman was walking near the Cairns Lagoon with friends when she was pushed by a teenage girl who was running at her. This caused the woman to drop her purse and as she bent over to pick it up the woman was pushed to the ground and the teenage girl grabbed the woman’s purse.
The teenage girl was held by a friend of the woman and a member of the public and police attended shortly after.
The woman received bruising and grazing as a result of the incident.
A 16-year-old White Rock girl has been charged with one count of attempted robbery.
