School zones are back in place this week

School zones are back in place this week

Please pay attention around our schools and make it as safe as possible for the kids to get to and from school each day

It’s back to school this week so please pay attention to speed zones and parking signage around schools.

School ZoneMotorists are reminded that the 40 km/h school zones will operate from 7am to 9am and again from 2pm to 4pm in and around the far north area.

There are a few exceptions:

  • Caravonica Primary School on the Kamerunga Western Arterial Road, Caravonica is a 60 km/h zone for those times; and
  • St Augustine’s College on Scott St, Parramatta Park between Severin and Draper Street is a 40 km/h zone ALL DAY from 7am to 4pm as students frequent the crossing for classes.

Local police will be performing high visibility patrols in school zones paying close attention to your speed, parking, stop drop and go zones and our pedestrian crossings to ensure all our little people stay safe on the roads.

Remember the stop, drop and go zone is designed to drop off or collect. Do not leave your car parked in this zone.

My tip of the day is simple. Slow down, pay attention to the road rules and parking signage.

Enjoy term four everyone!
