Serious traffic crash, Benowa

Police are investigating after a woman and a child were injured in Benowa this afternoon.

At 5pm, a 37-year-old woman and a 1-year-old boy in a pram were crossing Carrara Street when they were struck by a vehicle.

Both were taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital, the woman was treated for a hand injury and the boy was treated for a suspected broken leg.

The woman driving the car wasn’t physically injured as a result of the incident.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
