Serious traffic incident, Cairns
Police are investigating a serious traffic incident which occurred in Cairns last night.
Officers were called to Sheridan Street at around 8.15pm following reports a pedestrian had been hit by a car.
The 47-year-old man was struck and knocked to the roadway sustaining serious head injuries.
He was transported to the Cairns Base Hospital for treatment.
The female driver and two female passengers of the car were not physically injured during the incident.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
