South Mackay home burgled, car stolen
A white 2006 Toyota Kluger (registration number 253 KWY) has been stolen from a Norris Street, South Mackay home overnight. The thief gained entry into the home through a closed but unlocked back door – only steps away from the back door was a bench which held the car keys for the Kluger. The keys were used to steal the car.
This has happened between 8pm on October 17 and 4:45am on October 18.
The stolen car has not yet been located by police – we need your help. If you see this car in your travels, please contact your nearest police station or advise Policelink on 131 444. The police report number to refer to is QP1701821552.
Unfortunately we don’t have an image of the stolen car to share with you.
The ongoing issue of thieves targeting our car keys is not going away. Police urge residents to be mindful of their home security – if the crook cannot get into your home, they will never be in a position to steal your car keys regardless.
