Drink driving, Mareeba: Police have charged a Kowanyama man after a traffic incident in Mareeba on Sunday morning.

It will be alleged police intercepted the 38-year-old man on Fenwick Street at about 11am and when required to provide a roadside breath test, he returned a reading of 0.127 per cent BAC.

The driver is scheduled to appear in the Mareeba Magistrates Court on October 30, charged with one count of drink driving.

Traffic offences, Mount Garnet: Police have charged a local man after a traffic incident in Mount Garnet on Sunday afternoon.

It will be alleged police intercepted the 36-year-old man on Garnet Street at about 4.45pm and when required to provide a roadside breath test, he returned a reading of 0.232 per cent BAC.

It will also be alleged that the man was unlicensed at the time and driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle.

The driver is scheduled to appear in the Mount Garnet Magistrates Court on November 15, charged with one count each of drink driving, unregistered, unlicensed, uninsured and using cancelled registration plates.

Traffic offences, Tablelands: Police have charged a Freshwater woman after a number of traffic incidents on the Tablelands on Monday.

It will be alleged police intercepted the 40-year-old woman on the Kennedy Highway Kuranda at about 1:35pm for exceeding the speed limit.

It will further be alleged that earlier in the day at about 11:30am, the woman has overtaken vehicles on Atherton-Herberton Road, Atherton at great speed causing them to take evasive action before she has driven to Main Street, Atherton and conducted a burnout near a fast food outlet.

Police will also allege the woman was adversely affected by drugs and was arrested to have a blood specimen taken.

The driver is scheduled to appear in the Mareeba Magistrates Court on November 13, charged with one count each of driving under the influence of liquor, dangerous operation of a vehicle whilst adversely affected by intoxicating substance, speeding and possess drug utensils.

High-end speeding, Southedge: Police have charged a 24-year-old man following a traffic interception on Monday afternoon on the Mulligan Highway at Southedge.

It will be alleged the overseas tourist was detected travelling at 150km/h in a 100km/h zone at about 1:45pm.

The man was issued with a Traffic Infringement Notice for $1177.

Stolen vehicle, Mareeba: Police are investigating after a vehicle was stolen from an address in Mareeba on Tuesday morning.

Initial investigations suggest that unknown people have entered the yard of an address on Mason Street between midnight and 6:30am and located an unlocked vehicle.

The offenders have also located the vehicle keys before driving off in the Silver Lancer bearing Western Australian plates 1BKK360.
