The wandering puppies, 12 months on
In August 2016, a Cardwell police officer was travelling to work and was just south of Cardwell around 7:30am when she located a number of adorable puppies wandering on the side of the highway looking very lost.
The puppies were taken into custody and the owner of the puppies was located later that day, not before four of the puppies had stolen the hearts of officers.
As a result, four of the puppies found homes with some of the officers.
One puppy is living the life in South East Queensland while three have remained in the area. Another two reside within the Cardwell area and one more pup lives in Innisfail.
