Tips for driving on our wet roads
Townsville has experienced a long dry spell so with all the rain lately, our road conditions have changed. The road surfaces are very slippery so remember to drive to the conditions.
Traffic crashes increase during periods of wet weather so please remember to:
- Slow down when turning corners and entering roundabouts;
- Plan to leave home a little earlier to allow for driving slower on the roads;
- Slow down for better visibility and braking distances; and
- Never drive, walk or ride through flood waters. If it’s flooded, forget it.
