Public nuisance, Flinders Street East
Townsville police have charged a 35-year-old man with public nuisance following an incident at a tavern overnight.
At approximately 2am this morning, police attended the licensed premises on Flinders Street East after a man allegedly smashed a glass bottle inside the premises following a disturbance between himself and another person.
The man sustained a cut to his hand but no other persons were injured.
The 35-year-old West End man was issued with a notice to appear at the Townsville Magistrates Court later this month. He was also issued with a 10 day banning notice.
Drugs and weapon offence, Railway Estate
A 27-year-old Cluden man has been charged with weapons and drug offences following a vehicle intercept in Railway Estate last night.
Police allegedly located drug related items and two knives inside the man’s vehicle.
The 27-year-old Cluden man was charged with possession of a knife in a public place, possess utensils, possess property suspected of having been used in connection with the commission of a drugs offence and unlicensed driving.
He is due to appear at the Townsvilles Magistrates Court on September 7.
