Drugs and weapons charges, Rasmussen

Police have charged a woman after they intercepted a vehicle in Rasmussen early this morning.

Around 3.15am, police intercepted the vehicle on Santal Drive where they allegedly located two knives and a quantity of methylamphetamine.

A 37-year-old Alice River woman was charged with one count each of possession of a dangerous drug and possession of a knife in a public place.

She is due to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court on September 4.

Drug and public nuisance charges, Ingham

Police have charged a man with several offences after attending an incident in Ingham last night.

Around 9pm, police attended Gort Street and spoke to a man after observing a mattress alight. Police will allege the man became abusive towards police before obstructing them.  Police will further allege that the man was located with a quantity of cannabis in his possession.

A 51-year-old Garbutt man was charged with one count each of public nuisance, possession of a dangerous drug and obstruct police.

He is expected to appear in the Ingham Magistrates Court on August 24.
