Multiple charges, North Ward
Police have charged two people with multiple property, drug and weapons offences overnight.
Police intercepted a vehicle on Eyre Street at about midnight. Police will allege that they located a firearm, a quantity of methylamphetamine and drug utensils.
A 33-year-old Kelso man has been charged with two counts of possess dangerous drug, one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, possess utensil, fail to dispose of syringe with reasonable care, possess anything for use in the commission of crime and unlawful possession of a weapon.
A 30-year-old Kelso woman has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
Both will be appearing in the Townsville Magistrates Court today.
Drink driving, Townsville City
Police have charged a man with drink driving early this morning after being intercepted on Flinders Street, Townsville.
Police will allege the man recorded a positive roadside breath test and was transported to the police station for further testing, where he recorded a positive blood alcohol concentration of 0.131 per cent.
A 21-year-old man is expected to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court on August 30.
