Unlawful use of a motor vehicle charges, Wilsonton
Police have charged two people following an incident in Wilsonton yesterday afternoon.
At around 5:10pm an officer observed a car which had been reported stolen from an address in South Toowoomba earlier in the afternoon being driven along Taylor Street in Toowoomba.
The officer followed the vehicle to McGregor Street in Wilsonton and attempted to take the driver into custody.
It will be alleged the male driver kicked the officer’s hands, resulting in the officer using her Taser.
Two other people who were in the car were also taken into custody at the scene.
The female officer did not require medical treatment as a result of the incident.
A 28-year-old man of no fixed address has been charged with one count each of serious assault of a police officer, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, driving under the influence, driving without a licence and possession of tainted property.
He is due to appear in Toowoomba Magistrates Court on October 4.
A 24-year-old Harlaxton woman has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and stealing.
She is due to appear in Toowoomba Magistrates Court on October 24.
A 21-year-old woman from St George was released without charge.
