Update 4: Cooktown Homicide – Continued appeal for assistance
Detectives continue their appeal for information and dash camera footage in relation to the death of Donna Louise Steele, and have released an image of Ms Steele in the hope someone may provide a vital clue.
Crime scene examinations have now been completed at all four sites of interest, with detectives and forensic officers currently analysing evidence.
A number of people in the community have been interviewed, however police continue to appeal to those who had contact with Donna prior to her death.
CCTV camera vision captures Ms Steele’s white Toyota Hilux utility with a dog cage on the rear tray leaving Cooktown at about 12.20pm on Wednesday, August 2.
The last confirmed sighting of Donna was at a Helen Street independent supermarket around 12.15pm on Wednesday, August 3.
Family contacted police on the evening of August 3, and a missing persons investigation commenced.
Ms Steele’s body was located in the water in Isabella Creek at Leggett’s Crossing at 5am on Sunday, August 6.
