Update: DPSOA offender arrested in NSW

Wanted person Damien Kennedy was arrested this afternoon in Wollongong, New South Wales during a routine traffic stop by the local highway patrol.

The vehicle he was travelling in was intercepted around 2pm (NSW time) on University Drive.

Detectives from the QPS Corrective Service Investigation Unit will travel to Wollongong to seek his extradition to Queensland.

A police search commenced for the 28-year-old male offender, supervised under the Dangerous Prisoners Sexual Offenders Act 2003 (DPSOA), who went missing after allegedly removing his electronic monitoring strap on October 23.
