Update: Search and rescue, Roaring Meg Falls

Police have today located the body of a man who was reported as injured after falling from Roaring Meg Falls at Creb Track, Bloomfield last night.

Around 6.30pm, a woman who had been with the man, called Triple Zero (000) to advise the 31-year-old slipped and fell approximately 30 metres into water.

The woman walked some distance to a ranger’s hut to call for help due to patchy communications in the area.

Police and other emergency services located the woman last night, however were unable to make their way to the man due to the lack of light and dangerous terrain

Overnight, police conducted a number of inquiries and crews began a search at first light this morning involving State Emergency Service volunteers and a helicopter.

Officers located the man’s body this morning.

There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
