Update & VISION: Police officer injured, Morningside

Police have charged three men in relation to an alleged dangerous operation of a motor vehicle incident that occurred yesterday at Morningside.

At about 10.30pm at the intersection of Wynnum and Junction roads, police attempted to intercept an allegedly stolen white Audi wagon using a tyre deflation device.

It will be further alleged the driver of the vehicle changed lanes and drove towards one of the police officers, hitting the officer before colliding with a power pole.

The officer sustained a broken right leg and was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

A 25-year-old Deception Bay man has been charged with attempted murder, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, unlicensed driving, fail to stop and two counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

He is expected to appear at the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday October 9.

A 29-year-old Redcliffe man, and a 29-year-old Margate man have both been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

The two 29-year-old men are expected to appear at the Brisbane Magistrates Court this morning, October 7.

It will be alleged the vehicle was stolen from a Windsor house in the early hours Thursday morning.
