Woman found critically injured in Earlville
Police are appealing for public assistance to help determine how a woman came to be seriously injured in a drainway in Earlville.
The woman was located in a drain over Clarkes Creek on the Bruce Highway around 9.15pm.
Detectives would like to speak with anyone who may have seen a woman walking inbound on the outbound side of the Bruce Highway between the Cannon Park Race Course and the Caltex service station beside the Stockland Shopping Centre between 6.30pm and 9.15pm.
The woman had been to the Cairns Cup racing carnival.
She is described as Caucasian in appearance, in her mid-30s and was wearing a white, pink and purple floral dress and a large pink ‘racing’ style hat with feathers and white high heeled shoes.
Police would also like a man who approached officers conducting roadside breath tests on Mulgrave Road last night with information about the woman to contact them again.
The woman is in a critical condition in Cairns Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
