Wounding, Surfers Paradise
Police are investigating following a large disturbance which resulted in a man being stabbed in Surfers Paradise this afternoon.
Preliminary information suggests around 3.30pm an altercation broke out between a number of patrons at a licenced premises on Cavill Avenue.
It will be alleged that during the disturbance a 24-year-old man produced a knife and stabbed a 29-year-old man in the neck.
The man was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital with a significant but non-life-threatening stab wound.
A 23-year-old man also taken to hospital with a minor head injury as a result of the initial altercation.
A 24-year-old man was arrested at the scene and is currently assisting police with their inquiries.
Investigations are continuing.
