Wulguru State School honours their “lifesavers”
Year Three students at the Wulguru State School provided officers from Stuart Police Station with gifts to be opened on National Police Remembrance Day (last Friday).
The packages were addressed To the Stuart Police officers, thank you for being a helping hand, you’re a “lifesaver”.
Inside each officers’ package were three items, with each item having an additional tag.
- Lifesavers- because you are one
- Tic Tacs – to help keep you cool in every situation
- Chupa Chups – for that pop of energy that you need
National Police Remembrance Day, (Friday September 29) is the most significant day on the police calendar. We pause to honour, remember and thank those police officers whose lives have been lost while performing their duties. 145 fine Queensland Police Service officers have lost their lives since 1861, with the most recent loss being Senior Constable Brett Forte on May 29 this year.
Officers from not only the Stuart Police Station, but the Townsville Policing District, would like to extend their thanks so the students at the Wulguru Primary School for their support and thoughtfulness. These packages were well used during night shift.
